Dr. Pepper partnered with Brandmovers to develop an in-store promotion with the goal of increasing beverage sales in Popeye’s restaurants. Leveraging Dr. Pepper’s sponsorship of college football, Brandmovers designed a promotion leveraging both SMS and web-based entry components, along with an additional instant win game.
How it Works
Dr. Pepper fans ordering large drinks at participating Popeye’s locations would receive branded “challenge” cups with a code printed on the cup, and instructions to either text the code to a special SMS short code or visit the promo website to enter a sweepstakes. Entering the code gained each user one entry, and an additional entry could be gained playing a digital “photo hunt” game on the website.
A 20% increase in participation over the previous year’s program, with a 75% engagement rate on-site and over 20,000 entries.
